I learned a lot of valuable things at the ELC 2017. The keynote speaker was informative and helped to relieve any stress involved in implementing the new curriculum. It was refreshing to hear from the government in such a modern tone. The workshop on inquiry was very well structured and made sense for primary teachers (finally!). Michelle taught us about structured and guided inquiry for those classrooms that are not quite ready for open inquiry. Everything she said made me confident that I could implement inquiry into my classroom immediately.
In the afternoon I went to a session about learning profiles. I got some very useful assessment rubrics and learned the importance of having a baseline to showcase students' growth throughout the year. I was very pleased with this year's conference. Thank you!
