ABOUT US

The Prince George District Teachers' Association (PGDTA) is a union of professionals representing public school teachers in the Prince George, Mackenzie, McBride, and Valemount areas.  All public school teachers in these communities belong to the British Columbia Teachers' Federation (BCTF).  The BCTF was established in 1917, and is the union of professionals representing 41,000 public school teachers in the province of British Columbia. All public school teachers in British Columbia belong to the BCTF as well as to their local Association. The PGDTA consists of the main BCTF local 571 for Prince George teachers, sublocal 572 for teachers in Mackenzie, and sublocal 573 for teachers in McBride/Valemount.  The PGDTA represents all teachers in all matters regarding terms and conditions of employment with School District 57.
