We work to promote the welfare of teachers in School District 57, Prince George. We are committed to promoting the cause of public education, fostering effective teaching and learning conditions for the profession, and strengthening positive learning environments for students.
This website exists to help teachers and others find information, stay informed on issues, and to access services available to teachers. Attendance at union meetings, involvement on union committees, the Friday Flash, and quarterly newsletters are great ways to stay informed and involved.
The defunding of Public Education continues with further cuts to education funding. The government must stop its inflexibility and lack of will to invest in our children's future and their ability to build the future of BC. We continue to advocate for more funding into the Public Education System to continue building the supports needed for all BC students.
Today parents and public are more informed regarding the real situation in Public Education They must continue to advocate and pressure government to invest in the education of children in British Columbia. Together we will hold government accountable for their lack of investment in the children of our province, and raise our voices to advocate for BC children.
Above all, as Shawn L. Bird puts it "We need you. We need you to continue to fight for public education".
